This is filly is part of the 2020-2021 Wasabi Ventures Stables Yearling Supplement.
The target is to race this yearling in the Wasabi Ventures Stables racing program.
This is a Maryland-bred, Delaware-certified, and soon to be Virginia-certified Blofeld filly. (see notes below on conformation).
The horse has already moved to Middleburg Training Center for training in Virginia.
NOTE on PRICING:
Per our program, the horse was independently appraised for $1,000 by two independent consignors.
Per program rules, there will be four quarterly charges that are done automatically to a purchaser’s credit card. Each charge will be for a pre-payment of training fees and will be at the rate of $60/quarter per 1%. These charges actually count in our accounting system as a credit on the side of revenue and will offset any costs on the exit of the horse.
Like our racing program, there will be no on-going expenses and no chance of any other losses beyond these initial charges.
Note on NAMING:
While this filly has a name now (Lap of Luxury), this filly will be officially named in her 2 YO year. Anyone that is a Club member-owner of her will be part of the voting process on her name.
Notes on conformation from our independent consignor appraisal:
“Still immature. She has an average-sized body. Both of her stifles are prominent and she is thin.”
While she has an offset right knee, both Jesse and Zoe think that this horse will work through that and be fine for the race track.
This Pedigree Report is written by Lauren Floyd, Blood Stock Apprentice, Wasabi Ventures Stables:
Lap of Luxury is a yearling filly by Imagining, out of the WVS broodmare Littlemissperfect. She and her dam were purchased privately from George Adams of Housatonic Bloodstock last year and is a product of his mating recommendation.
Imagining is another very exciting stallion in the Maryland ranks, with his second crop of 2yos set to start racing any day now. A Grade 1 winning millionaire, Imagining was produced by the renowned Phipps breeding program, sired by the mighty Giant's Causeway and out of the A.P. Indy mare Daydreaming. Although Imagining himself didn't debut until July of his 3yo year, he has unexpectedly proven himself to be able to produce a number of 2yo winners, including stakes winner Monday Morning Qb ($120,000 in earnings). In fact, Monday Morning Qb even finished a solid 4th in the G3 Withers against a number of Derby prospects after enduring a very tough trip in which he bobbled at the start and was bumped hard by another runner coming out of the gate. While he competed exclusively on the turf, his offspring have proven themselves to be just as capable on dirt as they are on turf. Based on Imagining's own race record, his progeny should be that much stronger as 3yos and race at longer distances. In just the last 2 months alone, Imagining has had 4 new winners from his first crop. Dee Jay was a particularly impressive maiden special weight winner of his at Parx on 7/6, annihilating the field by a widening 17 1/4 lengths.
Lap of Luxury is the first foal out of her dam, Littlemissperfect, who is a daughter of Street Hero. A warhorse on the track, Littlemissperfect raced 47 times, winning 11, to earn $258,346 on both dirt and turf at 8 different racetracks, among which were Churchill Downs, Belmont, Aqueduct, and Laurel Park. She traces directly back to the Phipps mare Lady Be Good, and is therefore related to Squander, Discipline, Goodbye Halo, Burning Roma, Val's Prince, Mining, Wavering Monarch, Finest City, Off Limits [IRE], and Invader [AUS].
Littlemissperfect's dam, Admirer, is another Phipps-bred like Imagining, and a daughter of Private Terms. This makes her a 3/4 sibling to G3 winner Party Manners, who earned $227,640 in a career from 3 to 5. In addition to Littlemissperfect, she also produced another warhorse in Unaccountable (by Fusaichi Pegasus). This gelding raced from 3 to 9, primarily on the turf, and earned just shy of $300,000 over his 48 race career.
Lap of Luxury's third dam is Duty Dance, who was a multiple graded stakes winner and even finished 2nd against males in the G1 Man O' War before competing in the Breeders' Cup Turf. In 18 races over just 2 years, Duty Dance earned $439,114 before closing out her career. As a broodmare she produced the aforementioned G3 winner Party Manners and stakes-placed Errant Escort ($178,601 in earnings). She is also the granddam of G3 winner Proceed Bee (earner of $808,386 with 20 wins from 2 to 9), G2-placed Processor's Turf, and stakes-placed winners Cromwell, Mustang Jock, and Jeeves.
As previously mentioned, George Adams planned the match of Littlemissperfect with Imagining, noting that her female family has had a lot of success with the Storm Cat sire line. Lap of Luxury is also inbred to both Weekend Surprise as well as Numbered Account, for double instances of the Rasmussen Factor. The cross is good for a B+ grade on TrueNicks and a 20/20 mating on G1 Goldmine, indicating that this should be a strong match as well.
Thanks to her family's versatility, Lap of Luxury could be expected to perform well on any surface and would probably run best at around a mile.
