Pedigree thoughts from Housatonic Bloodstock:
Kuznetsov was a $20,000 yearling auction purchase (the second-highest price for a Great Notion in 2015) by trainer John Robb, and she went on to break her maiden in wire-to-wire fashion sprinting over the Laurel turf course as a 4-year-old, before retiring with a record of (11) 1-2-1, $39,730.
Kuznetsov is a half-sister to stakes-placed winner Change of Seasons, and to Oldies But Goodies, who won a pair of allowance races in 2018 for trainer Mike Trombetta before placing 3rd in the City of Laurel Stakes to close out his season. Kuznetsov has two other winning siblings from all her dam’s foals to race, with a 3-year-old full-sibling, a 2-year-old half-sister by Despite the Odds, and a yearling half-sister by Maclean’s Music who is a full-sister to Oldies But Goodies, to come. Her dam is expecting another foal by Maclean’s Music in 2019.
Kuznetsov’s second dam is the stakes winner of $100,000, Special Kell, whose daughters Star Kell and Magical Meadow are responsible for three stakes winners between them, including Grade 3 winner Street Magician, now one of Maryland’s leading sires. You can check out her pedigree here.
Kuznetsov will be bred for the first time in 2019.
