— This 3 YO Maryland-bred filly is one we have been chasing for a few months. And on our third attempt of a claim we finally got her! The horse has been claimed out of her last three races so we have had company in liking her for awhile!
— Her dam's sire was Opening Verse, who won the Breeder's Cup Turf Mile.
— She was a late foal with a June birthday so she is still a young horse with lots of opportunities to improve.
— She is a grand daughter of A.P. Indy and the daughter of leading Maryland sire Friesan Fire. She has Seattle Slew and Secretariat in her father's bloodlines.
— As a maiden, we still have all of the conditions left for this horse and expect to have it back in a maiden race in the next couple weeks.
— As a MD-bred we qualify for state-bred races and state bred bonus money.
— We believe there is the opportunity to stretch this horse out and go for longer distances.
— Pre-claim, we had reports from multiple people that the horse was healthy and had a great disposition for training and managing.
— She has shown versatility to run shorter and longer and like both the dirt and turf. We will know more about our plan as we start to train her in the next week or two.
UPDATE: Post race she is sound and healthy. Beth Worton, our trainer, reports that she is very smart and professional.
